Single-chamber is unacceptable for living spaces in the region. Double-chamber with i-glass is the sweet spot.
Low-E (i-glass) — metal-oxide coating reflects heat back inside. +30–40% insulation for only 10–15% extra cost. A must.
Multifunctional — Low-E plus sun control. For south- and west-facing windows.
Tempered — 5–7× stronger. Mandatory for panoramic glazing, doors, ground-floor.
Triplex (laminated) — security and sound insulation.
Air (free), argon (+10–15%, only 3–5% extra — recommended), krypton (+20–25%, expensive).
Opening types: tilt-and-turn (standard), parallel sliding PSK/HS (large terrace doors), top-hung (above heads). Trusted brands: Roto, Siegenia, Maco, Winkhaus. Avoid no-name hardware — sagging and drafts within 2–3 years.
