Mains gas is the most economical way to heat a country house — 3–5× cheaper than electricity, 2–3× cheaper than LPG or diesel. Russia's social gasification program now opens access to gas for thousands of homeowners in the Leningrad Region.
Since 2021, if your settlement has a gas main, Gazprom must bring the pipe to your plot border for free (previously 100 000–500 000 ₽).

LPG tank (gazgolder). Underground tank, refilled 2–3 times a year. Setup 200 000–400 000 ₽; annual fuel for 150 m²: 85 000–160 000 ₽.
Electric heating. Low capex (boiler from 25 000 ₽) but 150 000–250 000 ₽/year operation.
Heat pump. High capex (600 000–1 500 000 ₽), low opex (40 000–80 000 ₽/year). Payback 5–8 years vs electric boiler.
